Periyo Child Safety Standards
Last updated: August 15, 2026
Periyo has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This applies to all content, all users, and every feature of the app.
Who Periyo is for
Periyo is intended for users 18 years of age and older. Date of birth is collected and self-reported at profile creation; we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use the app, and we are actively working to strengthen age-entry safeguards over time.
How we prevent and respond to CSAE
- Every profile can be reported directly within the app, for any reason including suspected child exploitation or abuse.
- Every user can block another user, immediately and permanently removing mutual visibility between them.
- Periyo has no open messaging or chat feature — there is no direct-message system through which private, ongoing contact with a minor could be established through the app itself.
- Reports are reviewed by Periyo's team. Any report involving suspected CSAE is treated as the highest priority and acted on promptly, which may include removing the profile in question.
- Where required by law, apparent instances of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) are reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline.
How to report a concern
To report a profile or behavior within the app, use the "Report" option available on any profile. You can also contact us directly using the information below — please include as much detail as you can (screenshots, the profile involved, and what happened).
